Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) Manager - Indonesia

This position reports into the Director EHS - APAC Make & R&D based in Jakarta.

What will you do

The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead- Indonesia is responsible for leading EHS including Occupational Health (OH) team in Jakarta plant in End-to-End Supply Chain operations. She/He is accountable for the deployment, execution and performance of EHS strategies, policies, standards, compliance, risk reduction and management initiatives. The candidate should be a growth mindset leader who creates heightened organizational consciousness of EHS issues to deeply embed a strong EHS culture across the organization. He/She demonstrates caring and leadership to serve team to learn and grow their knowledge, communication and leadership.

The Manager EHS will work with EHS and OH teams, Site business leaders/functional leaders in Commercial, R&S, Supply Chain Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Quality, Procurement to continue driving EHS culture and programs. Externally, he/she will have relationships and interactions with local regulatory authorities, external suppliers, ISO certification registrar, professional organizations, NGO’s, and others.

Key Responsibilities

· Responsible to drive a culture of EHS and OH excellence to achieve best in class results by collaborating with relevant business partners and functional leaders to integrate EHS into the business in a way that drives compliance, risk reduction and derives operational values.

· Ensures the requirements of Local regulatory, EHS permits are established, implemented and maintained.

· Drive continuous improvements via ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other applicable standards and achieving regional and site environmental sustainability goals.

· Champions, drives and ensures that the annual EHS and OH Program Reviews and/or audits are implemented annually.

· Leads incident/accident investigations and ensures prevention measures are developed and effectively maintained.

· Identifies and provides effective EHS and OH trainings for employees and contractors to ensure full compliance and safe work practices.

· Develops and maintains an Emergency Response Plan and ensure that drills and review are conducted as scheduled. Support or facilitate process of Business Continuity Plan (BCP) or Crisis Management Team (CMT) at site.

· Drives risk reduction and enhance operational efficiency through cultivating reporting of Good Saves (Near miss/unsafe act/unsafe condition) and SIF-P (Severe Injury or Fatality Precursor events. Support / help remove barriers in understanding EHS issues and coordinate mitigation strategies as needed.

· Responsible for building a culture that hires, grows & develops talent, inspires diversity & inclusive behaviors and enables high performing team in Indonesia.

· Routinely engages business and functional leaders to review EHS/OH performance, compliance, and issues.

· Passion towards Digital technologies and data analytics

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

· Requires University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in EHS technical field.

· Should have a valid “general safety expert” registration as per local government requirement.

· Expert technical knowledge in EHS disciplines, 8-10 years of experience in leading EHS in manufacturing.

· Outstanding leadership, ability to gain trust and influence at all levels and collaborative.

· Effective team development capability, exemplified by a track record of leading, coaching and developing EHS/OH professionals.

· Strong communicator who is credible and self-assured; strong technical skills with the ability to explain complex issues and requirements in an easily understood manner.

· Strong compliance orientation with a focus on end-to-end global/regional EHS/OH process management.

· Relevant qualifications e.g. certified occupational safety officer, CIH, Lead auditor etc.

· Strong growth mindset
